Battle:  Napoleon’s famous attack on the British at Waterloo.  Can he defeat them before the Prussians arrive?

Players:  1-3 British players, 1-3 French players and 1 Umpire.

Components List

  • Historical Setup sheet.
  • Detailed OB to record losses.
  • Map: 24″ x 34″  Scale:  8,000:1
  • Pub Battles Rules with Battalion Scale adaptation.
  • 360+ Optional Hardwood Kriegsspiel blocks with custom stickers.  Get the No Block Version and save by reusing Standard Kriegsspiel Blocks for all of your battles.

Some Assembly Required

It Does NOT include rules.  You can get the official Kriegsspiel rule set from Too Fat Lardies.

Does NOT include dice or measuring device.

Note:  To keep the piece count down, we have complied 2-4 units into 1.   We track the true numbers and strengths on the OBs.  So infantry units usually muster 900-1350 men, instead of the standard 450.  Even so, there are still a ton of pieces with this!  Lots of stickering to do!

-IF you are used to the Pub Battles version, the map here is much smaller scale.  Just the immediate area where the historical battle took place.  Also, we only include the units that actually saw action in the battle -not all the units from the campaign.  This lower scale gives you much better ‘resolution’ to fight over things like Hougomont accurately.

We don’t have fancy orders, umpire’s guide and reinforcement schedules  with this.  We leave much of this up to you as an umpire to decide how to fight it out.  We do provide a historical Setup guide to start.

This looks to be the most accurate and interesting version of Waterloo that I have ever played. The map, at 1:8000, is absolutely gorgeous.

I am playing it for the first time now!
