New Pub Battles Dice Update Stickers

With the release of the new 4.0 rules, we made a few tweaks to the combat results.  A number of good improvements to the game here but what if you have the old dice?  No, this isn’t a scam to make everybody buy all new dice again.  No worries.   =)

If you have old Pub Battles Dice and want to update to the new Musket Battles design, just let us know and we’ll send then out to you for FREE.

All we ask is that you wait until you order something new.  That makes it easy for us to just include them with your current order.

–Otherwise it will turn into an insane mess of us trying to send out thousands all at once by hand with thousands of more complicated emails to sort through.

How to get the new dice stickers?

Next time you order something from us, put a little note for us when you checkout.  Tell us the number and types of dice you need new stickers for.

How to replace them?

Soak your old dice in a bowl of hot water for an hour.  Replace the water with fresh, hot water to warm them back up for about 5 min.  Then the old stickers should easily peel off.  Dry and rub off any remaining residue with a dry towel, then you are good to go!

  1. There’s 4.0 rules for Pub Battles now? How has it changed? Also is musket battles the same as pub battles?

Also, are there any updates on the France 40/Bulge games?
    Thank you.

    • Good question!

The key difference is that we have added a Brigade scale. That doubles or triples the block count. So if you play with Brigades, it isn’t a ‘Pub Battle’ anymore. It takes too long.

You can still get the divisions and play with those for a quick ‘pub battle’.

Beyond that, just a lot of reorganization and clarification in the rules.

We are working on updating the OBs to Pub Battles and releasing a Brigade scale version of all those battles. After that, we’ll get back to work on our WW2 line up!

        • Yes, very tricky stuff. In some tests and studies, there are thinking that is closer to exponential than squared.

A very difficult thing to measure though. There are so many other huge factors involved. It is hard to account for all that in a math formula.

          Still a worthwhile endeavor.

What we are mostly looking at with operational and strategic WW2 is the interaction between air, armor and logistics.

Every strategic ww2 game I’ve seen cheats the ‘combat factors’ to make it come out right. We aren’t going to do that. The OB will be what it was. Man vs man. Tank vs tank.

So with a force ratio of 1:1, how can Germany defeat Poland so quickly? Same thing in France 40.

We are focusing on this miracle of blitzkrieg in our combat model. If your model can’t account for that, it is severely broken. I’d say you not really playing WW2.

          • I see, always good to hear that you guys consider all such important details in a wargame. Personally I’d be ready to empty my wallets for a world war 2 game that gives me an authentic feel of commanding a Blitzkrieg attack hahahah!

  2. Is the move from pub battles to musket battles the reason Waterloo is out of stock? Any idea when the game will be available again?

    Thank you!

  3. Off topic I know, but any idea when the full canvas waterloo will be back in stock? also, would it be possible to buy just the kriegsspiel sticker sets?
